It's OUR Belfry!
OUR MISSION
The Mission of the Belfry Music Theatre is to bring excellence in entertainment by presenting art that bridges gaps, inspires hope, offers solutions for reconciliation and ultimately finds redemption; interactive presentations that challenge us to explore a life of meaning and purpose.
Our theater lives on the corner of faith and hope, while being dedicated to the stewardship of our community’s God given talents and resources.
OUR HISTORY
Our strategic plan is grounded in the excellence of our heritage. The Belfry Music Theater is a national historic site just west of Lake Geneva south of 50 on Hwy 67 above Williams Bay. Housed in the only Mormon church to be turned into a theater, the Belfry is also the first summer stock theater in Wisconsin. A group of enthusiastic actors opened its doors to patrons in 1932, and the stage has graced hundreds of productions since. Notable actors that have starred at The Belfry include, Paul Newman, Harrison Ford, Gary Burghoff, Del Close and Eddie Cash. After years of sitting empty, it is a pleasure to see Transformation Arts, BRING BACK THE BELFRY, but we can't do it alone.
2015 is fundraising and construction phase, projected to OPEN SUMMER OF 2016.
We are currently seeking VOLUNTEERS who are able to donate their time, talents and materials to the restoration of both the Theatre building, grounds and Actors House. Are you a carpenter, plumber, roofer, landscaper, or otherwise handy to have around? We welcome your participation in BRINGING BACK THE BELFRY!
Please contact Greg Ingersoll at 262-374-1761
